Webomatrics ranks UO at 138th in Pakistan

Webomatrics, a credible Spanish ranking agency, has placed the University of Okara at 138th position among the 344 Pakistani universities. According to the agency’s recently published World Universities Ranking report, the UO is listed at 14039 worldwide. 
Talking to the media about this, the UO’s Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Dr Arshad Kamran, told that the UO had surpassed all the public and private sector universities that were established after 2015 in Pakistan. 
Discussing about the Webomatrics, he said, “Webomatrics evaluates universities on the basis of their scientific publications, faculty qualification and innovative teaching techniques. 
The UO’s Vice Chancellor hailed the QEC’s efforts to bring the university into the world rankings and urged his faculty to work on more pedagogical innovations and community outreach programs in order to perk up this rank further. 
He further said, “It is encouraging for a university with not more than three years of functional life to achieve such a good rank, but instead of resting on our laurels, we need to work on areas such as research, community development and scientific innovations in a bid to go higher”. 
According to the university spokesperson, the UO was established under Government of the Punjab Act 2016. Currently, there are more than 17,000 students and 200 faculty members enriching the academic life of the university. The ratio of female students is more than 60 percent and there is a conducive environment for these students to learn and excel.
