World leader Grundfos hosts Industry Seminar in Karachi

Karachi – Grundfos is a global leader in advanced pump solutions and a trendsetter in water technology. On Thursday, 4 December, the Danish pump manufacture, organized an Industry Seminar in Karachi for its existing and potential customers. The seminar was organized together with its local partner, Orient Energy System.

Speaking at the occasion, as chief guest, the Ambassador of Denmark, Mr. Jesper Moller Sorensen, said that “I am exceedingly proud to see that Grundfos is now enlarging its presence here in Pakistan. Thanks to its strategic partnership with Orient Energy System, Grundfos is now here as a full line supplier of pumping solutions to the Industry”.

The Ambassador also mentioned that pumps use up to 10 per cent of global electrical energy consumption. According to Ambassador Sorensen “Grundfos’ can help save up to 20 per cent of the energy used in the industry by using more efficient pumps and systems. In other words, Grundfos technology can make a tangible impact on the global energy consumption”.

Grundfos Regional Business Director Niels Fielsoe Petersen, who had come from Denmark to Karachi to attend the seminar, said that he sees major opportunities to expand business in Pakistan. He said that “Grundfos is a full line supplier of pumping solutions relevant to basically all major industries in Pakistan”. These solutions include pumps for basically all major industries, including textile, power sector, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals and water treatment.”

Also speaking at the seminar was Mr. Asad Mahmood, the representative of ENERCON. Mr. Asad said that “I am very satisfied with this seminar. I believe that Grundfos is going to introduce in Pakistan the energy efficient product lines by keeping in view the market potential and demand for efficient technology.” He added that “Enercon being a focal institution to promote efficiency initiates in all sectors of economy across Pakistan and is undergoing transition phase to become an authority soon after the approval of much waited Pakistan Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill 2014”.

Ambassador Sorensen suggested that Pakistan could look to Denmark’s experience in having growth while reducing water consumption: “In Denmark, we have experienced a 78 percent economic growth since the 1970’s, yet energy consumption has remained flat and water usage has actually fallen. Grundfos has been an important part of this story. Today, Grundfos is a global leader in advanced pump solutions, a trendsetter in water technology, and provides sophisticated pump solutions to basically all industries”.
