A seminar followed by a rally in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day was held at the University of Okara.

The events were organized by the Department of Political Science and Department of International Relations.
The In-charges of International Relations and Political Science departments, Usman Shamim and Fakhara Shahid respectively, and member Council for Islamic Ideology Pakistan, Rana Shafiq Khan Pasrori, sensitized the students on the importance of Kashmir issue. A number of students also delivered speeches at the seminar.
The UO Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar, in his special message regarding Kashmir Solidary day, said, “We need to put more diplomatic effort to ensure the right of self-determination to the Kashmiris. I firmly believe that our youth have huge responsibility in this regard”.
He further told that the 21st century was all about ideas and Pakistan needed to show her presence in the international public sphere.
The Kashmir Rally was led by the UO faculty. The participants were holding placards and banners and they enchanted slogans in support of Kashmir and against India’ brutal role in the region.
