Islamabad: Pakistan Azerbaijan Media Forum organized a seminar on Kashmir & Khojaly Genocide in connection with the theme “Human Rights Day 365” on eve of International Human Rights Day in baidari e fiker forum Islamabad based think tank. Former Federal Minister Kashmir Affairs Lt. Gen. (R) Faiz Ali Chishti as a chief guest said Human rights abuses have been a part of a campaign by the Indian army against Muslim Kashmiri, particularly since 1990. The abuse is manifested in the following types of violations: “disappearances,” torture, and the rape and molestation of Muslim women. India as per her track record, is once again staging a fake cross Loc infiltration drama to implicate Pakistan. The drama is still on and Indian venomous media has started openly implicating Pakistan and Let for the attacks. Such orchestrated dramas have many a times been exposed in the past as well. Why India is doing all this? The plausible reasons are obvious. Firstly, it was an attempt to create hype prior to the election campaign visit of Modi in the alleged area falling in the sector where terrorist attack drama is being played.  Secondly, the failure of BJP to win in the Muslim majority area seems imminent and BJP is trying to implicate Pakistan for sabotaging the elections through Loc attacks. Thirdly, the alleged attacks are part of campaign to malice Pakistan internationally and tarnish her image worldwide before the forthcoming visit of American President to India. Since 1989, over 50,000 (by some reports nearly 100,000) Kashmiri people have been killed during the ongoing conflict) State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has found 2,730 bodies buried into unmarked graves scattered all over Kashmir believed to contain the remains of victims of unlawful killings by Indian security forces. Despite India’s harsh and repressive measures, Kashmiri movement for self determination cannot be suppressed.

Sec. Gen. Pakistan Azerbaijan Media Forum Raja Javed Ali Bhatti presented a statement of Dashgin Shikarov Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan The capture of Khojaly town was particularly tragic. Before the conflict, 7,000 people lived in this town of the Nagorno-Karabakh region that was inhabited by only Azerbaijanis. There were no regular Azerbaijani forces over there. From October 1991, the town was entirely surrounded by Armenian troops. Over the night from the 25th and 26th of February 1992, the assault on the town began from various directions. The infantry regiment of the former Soviet Army stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh, directly participated in the operation. In a few hours’ time 613 civilians were killed including 106 women, 83 children. 56 people were killed with outrageous brutality, 8 families were totally exterminated, and 25 children lost both parents while 130 children lost at least one parent. Thousands of civilians were wounded and taken hostage, many of whom remain missing. The UN Security Council passed a total of 4 resolutions that demanding immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of forces from all occupied lands of Azerbaijan. The 3 resolutions of the UN General Assembly, resolutions of Non-Aligned Movement, OIC, European Union, Council of Europe, NATO, OSCE on Armenian-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were passed. The President of the UN Security Council issued 7 statements on the very subject. None of these resolutions was implemented; all statements are simply ignored by Armenia. Pakistan Azerbaijan Media Forum demanded implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir and Khojaly Genocide. PAMF also demanded of the United Nations to take notice of the killing of the innocent Kashmiri people as a result of firing on LOC and withdraw 800,000 Indian forces deployed in the disputed territory.

Former Sec. Gen. Foreign Affairs Akram Zaki said  Pakistan being a legitimate party to the dispute, by virtue of partition plan and UN resolutions, has right to support the cause of the right of self determination of Kashmiri. India claims to be World’s largest Democracy.  Her claims of democracy have often been proven as fake by international media including her own opinion makers.  India is presently holding State Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir.  These sham elections in no way are substitute to UN approved resolutions to hold plebiscite as per aspirations of people of the valley. The ongoing elections have been portrayed as a historic success as far as the turnover is concerned. This self generated perception lacks any substantial evidence, especially, when no foreign media/election observers have been allowed to cover the polling process. The vicious dream of BJP in the shape of “Mission 44” has already been criticized by Indian politicians as well as the international think tanks.  Nevertheless, BJP’s overconfidence to achieve the mission itself pollutes the transparency and legality of fake elections. During the last 24 years only, the trigger-happy forces have martyred 93,935 thousand Kashmiri, widowed nearly 23,000 thousand women, orphaned 107,461 children and molested or gang raped more than 10,000 thousand Kashmiri women.

Dr Murtaza Mughal Chairman Writers Unity Pakistan said several international agencies and UN have reported’ human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir. A 2008 report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees determined that Indian Administered Kashmir was only ‘partly free’. A recent report by Amnesty International stated that up to 20,000 people have been detained under a law called Armed Forces Special Powers Act -1958 (AFSPA) in Indian-administered Kashmir.
