Current political scenario and thinking of a common Pakistani

The political temperature of Islamic Republic of Pakistan is seeking to heights.  Thanks to the media and civil society, a rare population of this country is non-political. The superstructure of a democratic system in Pakistan revolves around two stack holders: Government and the opposition. The way, the government and opposition tackling the current situation, needs a rethinking. Both stack holders, maturely should think, whether Pakistan is susceptible for this instability? The clear answer is a big No.
Till date, the government is determined to quell the protests by any means, legal or illegal. Due to the power show by the government, Lahore, the provincial capital, remained virtually lockdown due to the transport infrastructure disrupted. So is the case with federal capital Islamabad. On the other hand, there is opposition. Yes, the people in the opposition (all over the world) have the right to protest against the policies and unlawful actions by the government. Should the common man suffer in this protest? The answer is clear…No.
In a democratic society, political maturity is needed, not the aggression. There must be a single objective before the government and the opposition, “Welfare of the people”. There are lots of ways to empower the people. This is the only demand by a common man. Imran or Qadri are not the concern here. The demand of a common man is that the people should be more powerful than the government itself. The government should be “by the people and for the people” in a real sense. The people should be able to nip the government in case, it is unable to deliver.
For this, laws and the electoral process should be revised. An independent judiciary, police and election commotion are the basic demands of a common man. A complete democracy is an ultimate solution for all the needs of a common Pakistani.
